     FOR      IMMEDIATE      RELEASE

Berkeley, Calif.—September 12, 2003—qNaturally Systems, Inc. today announced that it has won from US Patent Office a crucial patent covering cross-language search technology. Patent #6,604,101 is the method and system for interactively responding to international Internet search requests. qNaturally's system addresses the millions of Chinese Internet users who are not currently able to cross-search English and other non-Chinese sites. The major Chinese search portals support search across pages in Chinese only. e-Commerce is a major application of the new technology. Dr. Ning-Ping Chan, founder and the lead inventor, says, "The need for international searchee technology of American goods and services is long overdue to meet the rapidly expanding e-commerce/e-business by non-US Internet users." Take the recent SARS case, for example. At the height of the epidemic, many Chinese had heard of a US company's SARS mask, but most of them were frustrated by their inability to find the company's web site or to navigate effectively in English if they did find the site. The language barriers to finding critical product and purchase information hamper US companies in their effort to bring products to the world marketplace, of which 75% of the population is non-English speaking. qNaturally’s technology provides an end-to-end solution for the entire acquisition process. A critical component of the technology is qNaturally's innovative reading-aid software, based on the company's best-of-breed machine translation (MT) reading-aid engine. The Chinese State Intellectual Property Patent Office (SIPO) intends to use the MT reading-aid engine for translating foreign patents. qNaturally’s Dialectal Standardization Engine, another key component in the patent, is innovative in its recognition of 40+ dialects in China. The engine accommodates regional Internet users in China who do not speak standard Chinese—thus, stronghold at gateway input point, as well as aforementioned stronghold at gateway output point. The technology is applicable to other language combinations, such as Japanese to English, German to French, and Spanish to English. qNaturally is a network of Berkeley, Harvard and Stanford PhD linguists and advertising professionals from the major countries in the world. Mr. Robert N. Beck, MS, whose background includes leading management roles in IBM, Bank of America, Abbott Laboratories, Gateway, Scient and Roche Sports has joined qNaturally to guide the core team of the company. "qNaturally's expertise in linguistics and systems enables us to quickly help US companies see the problems with their current international web site, make recommendations and then make changes to allow international users to access a truly global site," says Mr. Beck.
